From the first Sunday in November to the second Sunday in March, Colombia is on the same time as New York and Miami. During US daylight saving time, Colombia is 1 hour behind the East Coast. This year, DST ends on November 1, 2026 and starts again on March 14, 2027.
Example: 10:00 a.m. in Miami in July is 9:00 a.m. in Bogotá.

Dates that matter in Colombia
Some Colombian holidays don’t match the US calendar. Here’s what to keep in mind.
Second Sunday in May
Our most-sent gift from the US: a bear with Mom’s name embroidered on the paws and your voice saying what a video call can’t.
Good news: Colombia and the US celebrate on the same day, the second Sunday in May (May 9, 2027). One exception: in Cúcuta and parts of Norte de Santander it’s the last Sunday in May.
Third Saturday in September
Dating someone from Colombia? Their big romantic day isn’t February 14. It’s “Love and Friendship Day” in September, for partners and friends alike.
In 2027 it falls on Saturday, September 18. February 14 is also increasingly celebrated in Colombia.
December 24
In Colombia the big night is the 24th: novena prayers, dinner and gifts at midnight. If you can’t fly home this year, let them hear you on Nochebuena.
December is peak season, so order early and we’ll confirm the delivery date on WhatsApp.

A guide to sending gifts to Colombia
When you want to send a gift to Colombia from the USA, the hard part usually isn’t the gift: it’s the shipping. A package from the US means an international carrier, customs and weeks of waiting. With Tocco de Amore, the gift is made and delivered inside Colombia: you order online and they receive it as a local delivery.
Our most popular gift from abroad is a teddy bear with a voice recording: record your voice, a song or a family message of up to 30 seconds and we sew it inside the bear. The recording is included in the price, and we send you a preview before we sew it in.

Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit and debit cards issued in the United States (or any other country). Payments are processed by Bold, our payment provider. Colombian methods such as PSE, Nequi and Bre-B QR only work with Colombian bank accounts or IDs. If you need another payment method, message us on WhatsApp before you pay.
All prices are in Colombian pesos (COP). Your bank converts the charge to US dollars at its own exchange rate, and depending on your card it may add a foreign transaction fee. That’s why we don’t list prices in dollars: the final amount on your statement is set by your bank.
It depends on the city and the type of bear. In Bogotá, non-personalized plush can ship the same day, depending on availability and order time; personalized bears are handmade once we receive your recording and text. Everywhere else in Colombia we ship by courier. We always confirm the delivery date before you pay, in Colombian business days (no Sundays or Colombian public holidays).
